Important Water Safety Reminder

General News

Drowning Prevention Week (DPW) is a major annual water safety campaign led by the Royal Life Saving Society UK (RLSS UK), aiming to reduce accidental drownings through free education and resources.

The 2026 campaign takes place from 13 June – 20 June, just ahead of the school summer holidays.

According to the latest data, child drowning deaths in England have doubled since 2019-20. Campaigns like DPW are critical because most accidental drownings are preventable with the correct education regarding cold water shock and hidden currents.
